If you notice that your
feelings are staying stuck in sad and/or depressed-types of
feelings, tell someone you can trust like a school counselor or
parent. You may find that some of your friends and trusted adults
have been through times of sadness, depression and despair.
Hearing their advice on how they handled what you're going through
will help a lot. If you are like many of us, you may even feel
like you are totally alone in your pain and confusion. That is how
Hey U.G.L.Y.'s co-founder felt when she started her journey, but in fact, millions of
people obsess over all the negative things that a bully says about
us. The bully calls us a name once and we repeat it to
ourselves 3,000 times. Sometimes life is really, really
tough. Last year a friend of Hey U.G.L.Y. was dumped by her
boyfriend, then lost her job and had to move back into her mom’s
house. She wanted to give up but she hung in there. Guess, what.
Today she is with a much better
boyfriend and is working at a job she loves and is earning a great
living. Interesting how that happens.
Some of our friends have discovered that their pain is caused depression. After they got professional help they were able to live a happier life. Others suffer from having a chemical imbalance which can often be corrected with diet and/or medication. Check with your doctor and school counselor for advice and input. Your mood could improve with their help. And know you are not alone. Go to YOU ARE NOT ALONE on our website to read about celebs that live with medical conditions like Bi-Polar, Clinical Depression, Dyslexia, and more.
Getting through the tough times will enable us to be able to help others who are going through them. We can actually help our friends, because we know what it’s like to feel like sh*# for long periods of time. We also know how great it feels to have made it through. By saving your life you will be saving others.
